Fumihisa wins world cup ski jump event (AP)

Fumihisa Yumoto of Japan won his first World Cup ski jump meet of the season Sunday. Yumoto jumped 126 meters on his first attempt and didn’t have to defend the result after adverse weather forced the cancellation of the second jump. Simon Ammann of Switzerland, who won Saturday’s event, jumped 124.5 meters for second place and increased his lead in the World Cup standings.
