Inquest into the death of youth shot by police postponed

TORONTO, May 8 – Dr. James Edwards, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto East Office, today announced that the inquest into the death of a youth, previously scheduled to begin on June 8, 2009, has been postponed. The 15-year-old youth died on June 20, 2006, in east Toronto after being shot by Toronto Police……

Colorado looks to host 2015 ski worlds (AP)

The Colorado towns of Vail and Beaver Creek have made a joint bid to host Alpine skiing’s world championships in 2015, contending with resorts in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, and St. Moritz, Switzerland. All three bidders were candidates last year when the Austrian resort of Schladming was awarded the 2013 event.
